Smoked Green Bean Casserole
A smoky twist on the classic green bean casserole with a creamy sauce and crispy onion topping.

- 1.5 lbs fresh green beans
- 0.5 sweet yellow onion, chopped
- 0.25 cup butter
- 1 cup sour cream
- 0.75 cup heavy cream
- 0.75 cup chicken stock
- 1 tbsp Heath Riles Garlic Butter
- 0.5 cup shredded marble jack cheese
- 0.75 cup monterey jack cheese
- 6 oz french fried onions
Instructions
- Trim and cut green beans into bite size pieces. Steam until soft.
- Sauté onions until softened in medium saucepan.
- Add butter, stir until melted.
- Add in sour cream, heavy cream, chicken stock and 1T Heath Riles Garlic Butter.
- Bring to boil then reduce heat to low, stirring consistently until sauce thickens to a creamy consistency.
- Combine sauce mixture and green beans and put in a 9x13 greased pan.
- Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
- Smoke at 225° F for 1 ½ hours.
- Top with French Fried Onions and sprinkle with more Heath Riles Garlic Butter and increase to 325° F for ½ hour.
